From the moment that Kate wakes up in the arms of a stranger, I was hooked. I couldn’t put the book down. I actually had trouble concentrating at work, until I could pick it up again on my commute. I needed to know what happened to these two strong women from different worlds, and upbringings.

I liked the contrast of Kate and her sister. The best friend Indie, despite her jealousy (which I could totally relate to) still was there for Kate no matter what.

I enjoyed the author’s sense of humor, and romantic touch. I know that Amazon would like us to compare it to other books like it, but I haven’t really read anything like this before. So I’m glad I took a chance on this. I doubt you’ll be disappointed. -- Nikki Angel

Passion with a side of Sci-Fi

The characters are well rounded and very dimensional--I particularly appreciated warmth of the minor characters and the nuances of the relationship between the father and daughter. The plot is tightly put together and has something for everyone, a little sci-fi, buddy-on-the-run-turn-romance, and suspense. I think the lighter playful style of writing is well suited for the genre. If you are looking for a light lesbian romantic and slightly humorous read this is it. -- Bessesdotter

Enjoyed this sci-fi love story!!!

These characters are so well written they leap from the page. The plot draws you in and keeps you turning pages until the end. I would easily call this a must read for lovers of the sci-fi genre. E A Kafkalas is a new name for me in lesbian fiction.I think I heard about her books on FB.Not sure.
Anyway, I choose "The Second Heart" as my first story to read simply because it involved science fiction.
I enjoyed the story of Kate and Allie and I'd love to read more stories about them. --Amazon Customer
